June 8 and September 14, 2013
Our day programs, which run from 9am to 4pm, are perfect for adults who have always been interested in experiencing archeology, but who don’t necessarily want to participate in an extended-stay, more intensive excavation program. We’ll explore an ancient Native American community at our 2000 year old village site, process finds in our lab, and participate in experimental archeology sessions—a nice “sampler” of the methods used by archeologists to interpret the past.
Tuition: $50.00 per person; includes one-year membership in the CAA! Your membership entitles you to 10% off merchandise at the CAA Visitors Center and Museum, and 5% off tuition on your next CAA program adventure.
Who May Enroll: Participants must be 18 years or older; this is a great program for adults of all ages! Surprise a spouse/partner with a unique gift; kids, send your parents to “camp” for a day!
Is This Program Right For Me?: This program is for adults who are interested in exploring their interest in archeology. Although less intensive than our Adult Field School program, we will be working in the excavation site, laboratory, and will do supplemental sessions (Flintknapping, etc.) that show the variety of activities archeologists do to better understand the prehistoric past. It’s a fun way to engage your inner archeologist!
Enrollment Process: Complete the Registration Form and return it to the CAA Office along with your 30% deposit or full payment. Upon receipt of a completed Registration Form, we will send you a confirmation letter and a packet of additional information. Please note that your remaining tuition balance is due one week before the program begins.
What Forms Do I Need to Complete?: Registration Form, Assumption of Risk/Permission to Photo Form, Adult Medical Form. These forms are available through the CAA web page.
NOTE: Registration closes one week prior to the start of each session. Enrollment is limited to 10 individuals per day.
